Cobalt 0.6 is out !

We are happy to announce that Cobalt 0.6 is out now !

We dropped old platforms

All platforms under 3% of worldwide usage have been dropped : iOS 6 and 7. And all Android versions below 4.1.

We removed the CLI.

It was not ready for production, newcommers had too much problems with it. #139

Javascript file is now a single file

the same file can be used for every platforms now and there is no more to worry about the debugInBrowser boolean anymore.

A very few features around cobalt.conf have been added

  • You can now enable iOS scrollToTop in cobalt.conf
  • You can now set webview background color from cobalt.conf

And a lot of bugfixes

Mainly on the native bars, but not only. You can see the whole release notes

It’s been almost one year since the last release. We will release faster in the future.

Warning : there is some migration steps for Android

You will need to update some methods and your templates. Read more here


Cobalt CLI updated

Cobaltians, our npm package for the Cobalt Command Line Interface, has been updated to 0.1.4.
It brings Node.js v4.2.4 LTS and v5.4.1 Stable support.


We recommend that you first update your node and npm by following these instructions then update your Cobalt CLI by running npm install -g cobaltians again.

A cool side effect of this release is that you can now create a new app from the SideMenu sample too!

Cobalt 0.4.1, summer is hot!

We are on fire!

We worked hard the past few weeks on the new Cobalt 0.4.1 release. There is a bunch of new features that we are quite proud of. Here are the superstars of this release:

  • Navigation methods: you can now pass data along the way,
  • LocalStorage: you can now store anything, without caring about data type.

We also worked on the documentation wiki and rearranged the whole repositories architecture.

Cobalt 0.4

We are pleased to announce the release of Cobalt 0.4!
